The Client's request

Sustainability is a top priority for Ouwehand. Therefore, the company wanted to document its commitment in a sustainability report for the first time. In recent years, several steps have already been taken in the area of ​​sustainability. For example, a double materiality analysis (DMA) was conducted, a sustainability strategy was formulated, and through working groups, sustainability themes were  translated in practice for the construction site. A coherent, professional, and accessible sustainability report was the icing on the cake.

Our approach

Together with 2impact, Ouwehand Bouwen & Ontwikkelen produced its first sustainability report. The process was efficient and structured, with close coordination. In a short time, we gathered the relevant information and data on the material themes and wrote a clear and consistent narrative. The roles were clearly divided: 2impact provided the reporting expertise and experience and managed the project, while Ouwehand Bouwen & Ontwikkelen provided the content and ensured the report aligned with the existing communication style. On the design, we collaborated with a design partner.

The result

The final sustainability report is compact, visually appealing, and comprehensive. The report aligns with both the basic and extended modules of the European Voluntary Standard for Sustainability Reporting (VSME). Ouwehand Bouwen & Ontwikkelen describes its ambitions and approach across the sustainability pillars of Climate and Nature, Circularity, and People and Organization. This report allows the company to transparently communicate its sustainability efforts to various stakeholders in the construction sector.
